Andrew Murphy wasn’t exactly sure what was behind Ridley’s three-game skid. At least not specifically. The senior guard had a few ideas, though.
“The last couple of weeks, our defense hasn’t been doing enough,’ Murphy said Friday night. “We haven’t been playing tough defense and we haven’t been scoring much either.’
Just a couple of minor things.
Friday’s game wasn’t perfect and it was rarely pretty, but the 45-40 win the Green Raiders gutted out against Haverford was exactly what was needed to stem the tide of their recent Central League skid.
Murphy was one of the biggest factors behind ending the drought, providing all five of his points in the fourth quarter, including a dagger of a 3-pointer from the wing with just under three minutes left to cap a 7-0 spurt that stretched a three-point margin to a comfortable 10.
