Derrick Jones and Austin Tilghman made sure Archbishop Carroll got back on the winning track after Sunday’s loss to Roman Catholic.
Jones and Tilghman scored six points each in the first quarter to propel the Patriots to a 62-43 Catholic League victory over Bonner-Prendergast Wednesday.
Behind Jones, Tilghman and Joe Mostardi, who had five points in the opening period, Carroll (10-2, 4-1) jumped out to a 23-6 lead and never looked back. Tilghman led the way with 14 points. Jones added 10 points and 10 rebounds. Ernest Aflakpui chipped in with 10 points and seven boards, while Samir Taylor made five steals. Mostardi finished with nine points.
Tyler Higgins led the Friars (1-12, 0-5) with eight points. Tom McLoone and Dan Ings contributed seven points apiece.
