Girls: Sun Valley starts slow but beats Pottsgrove

Sun Valley proved it was a team of morning people, spotting Pottsgrove the first five points of the game, then scoring 34 of the next 45 en route to a 62-31 nonleague win in a game that began before lunchtime.

Aliceia Whitfield made a trio of treys and scored a game-high 20 points. She also had five steals.

Brielle Wright checked in with nine points and Olivia Hoy registered eight points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals for the Vanguards (2-3). Jaina Preuhs tallied five points, four boards and four assists while Ava Barraclough had six points.

Notre Dame 64, Ranney School 32 >> Senior guard and All-Delco Maeve McErlane poured in 21 points as the Irish cruised to victory at the She Got Game Classic in Holmdel, N.J.

The Irish received scoring contributions from 10 players including Katie Halligan and Annie Greek, each of whom tallied 11 points. Emma O’Hare pitched in with seven points.
