Despite 13 points from senior guard Grace O’Neill, Archbishop Carroll suffered a 38-29 loss to Plymouth Whitemarsh Sunday at the Hoops For Hope Classic at Cabrini University.
The Patriots (11-4) trailed 14-3 after eight minutes, but outscored the undefeated Colonials, 26-24, over the final three periods.
Plymouth Whitemarsh is the No. 1-ranked team in the District 1 Class 6A power rankings. Carroll is tied for first place with a 5-0 record in the Catholic League.
Lainey Allen netted a team-high 12 points for the Colonials, who shot 7-for-10 at the free-throw line in the fourth quarter. Carroll trimmed its deficit to five points midway through the fourth, but couldn’t get closer.
Taylor Wilson and Maggie Grant chipped in six points apiece for Carroll.
