Derrick Jones scored a game-high 27 points and grabbed six rebounds on Saturday afternoon as Archbishop Carroll downed Arlington Country Day (Fla.), 72-63, at the Chick-fil-A Classic in Columbia, S.C.
The win puts the Patriots into Monday night’s championship against the winner of nationally ranked Oak Hill Academy (Va.) and W.J. Keenan (S.C.).
Jones, a junior forward, shot 9 for 15 from the field and hit seven free throws. Ernest Aflakpui added 16 points, 11 rebounds and a pair of assists. Austin Tilghman scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds.
