Archbishop Carroll remains the lone Delco team in the PennLive state basketball rankings this week as we turn the page on the regular season.
The Patriots (17-5) remain second in Class AAA after an emphatic win over Archbishop Wood, 77-47 Sunday. That’s the same Wood team that crawled up to eighth in the Class AAAA rankings, having handed No. 1 Roman Catholic (20-2) its second loss of the season earlier last week.
Carroll still trails Neumann-Goretti (21-1) in Class AAA, while Imhotep Charter (14-8) is up to third. Carroll has drawn the No. 3 seed in the Catholic League tournament, and they’ll square off with No. 6 seed Conwell-Egan in the quarterfinals Friday. Egan (15-7) is ranked third in Class AA this week.
In AAAA, there’s a shuffle among the leading quartet from District 12. Despite the loss, Roman remains tops, with Public League frontrunner Martin Luther King (16-6) moving into second. St. Joseph’s Prep (18-4), which downed La Salle in a triple-OT thriller Sunday, leapfrogs them into third, while the Explorers (17-5) sit fourth.
