Derrick Jones’ 18 points and 10 rebounds helped fuel Archbishop Carroll to a 64-38 triumph over St. Rita’s in the championship of the Burger King Classic at Gannon University in Erie.
The Patriots became the fifth Philadelphia-area team in the last six years to win the tournament.
Carroll outscored St. Rita (Ill.), 50-24, after the first quarter.
Ernest Aflakpui had 16 points and gobbled up nine rebounds, Joe Sharkey dished out seven assists and Austin Tilghman scored 12 points.
