For a team in desperate needs of a boost, Matt Woods was exactly what the doctor ordered.

Woods finished with just six points, but the long-range shooter buried a pair of momentum-swinging 3-pointers early in the fourth quarter to lead the Episcopal Academy boys basketball team to a 60-57 win over Friends’ Central Saturday.

EA, which had lost its last two games in overtime, outscored the hosts 21-12 in the fourth quarter.

Mike Jolaoso scored 26 points, including 21 in the second half, while Nick Alikakos added 19. Mike Hinckley contributed five points and six assists for the Churchmen (4-2).
