How they got here: Champions out of the WPIAL, the Hurricanes took out three fellow District 7 playmates in the first three rounds — Bethel Park 71-64 in the first round, North Allegheny 64-54 in the second round, and Hampton 57-55 in the quarterfinals — before holding off District 1’s Abington 58-54 in Tuesday’s semifinals. … La Salle topped District 1’s Conestoga 64-58 in the first round, rallied for a 49-43 overtime victory over District 3 runner-up Cedar Crest in the second round, hammered defending PIAA champ Lower Merion 71-48 in the quarterfinals, and upset District 1 champ Chester 61-55 in Tuesday’s semifinals.
