A last-ditch effort by West Chester Rustin fell by the wayside as Sun Valley pulled off a thrilling, 75-72 Ches-Mont League win in overtime Thursday night.
Grant Miller (10 points, nine rebounds) had a pair of clutch free throws in the extra session. The Vanguards (2-1, 1-1) shot 17 of 26 from the charity stripe.
Shane Gilfoy was the top performer, scoring 25 points while grabbing 12 rebounds. Kyle Ryan contributed 15 points for the winners.
Ethan Ridgeway poured in 30 points for Rustin.
