Justin McFadden poured in a game-high 27 points as Lower Merion kept the Central League boys’ basketball race close with a 65-63 victory over visiting Upper Darby.
JaQuan Johnson and Steve Pendleton each added 11 points. McFadden, a senior headed to Binghamton, sealed the win with two foul shots to give the Aces a five-point lead with 25 seconds left.
Quadir Rice led the Royals with 16 points, and Demetrius Timmons scored 15.
Through seven games, the first- and fifth-place teams in the league are separated by just one game.
