With the scoring balance that has defined Garnet Valley all season in short supply Saturday, the Jaguars needed someone to step up.
Andrew Louden willingly obliged.
The senior scored 30 points, including a 10-for-12 effort from the free throw line in the fourth quarter, as the Jaguars scored a 50-41 win over Polytech of Delaware in the final of the Varsity Club Christmas Tournament.
Louden was the only double-figures scorer for the Jags (3-6), who handed the Panthers their first loss of the season. Louden was named tournament MVP for his efforts.
Austin Klenotiz, who also earned a place on the All-Tournament team, managed to score seven points against Polytech’s hulking front line.
