Grace O’Neill’s final basket in Archbishop Carroll’s 66-53 victory over Germantown Academy Monday night solidfied her status as one of the best girls basketball players in program history.
The senior guard canned a 3-point field goal late in the fourth quarter, giving her 1,000 points in her career.
O’Neill, who is bound for Drexel, scored a game-high 26 points to carry Carroll (12-4) to another win. O’Neill’s milestone bucket capped a 12-0 run that put the game out of reach.
Taylor Wilson provided 20 points and six rebounds for the visiting Patriots, who enjoyed a 34-20 lead at intermission. Maggie Grant (five rebounds) and Brooke Wilson contributed seven points apiece.
Kendall Bennett netted a team-high 18 points for GA.
