In a Central League quarter-final playoff game the Marple Newtown Tigers took an early lead and never relinquished it as they went on to beat the Radnor Raptors, 48-37.
The Raptors did manage to pull within 3 points late in the game but the Tigers relentless defense and offensive power prevented Radnor from taking the lead.
Mary O’Brien, Haley Levy and Nikki Mostardi teamed up for 37 points to help the third seeded Tigers hold off the sixth-seeded Raptors.
Marple Newtown visits second-seeded Springfield in the semifinals on Saturday. Tip-off is at noon.
O’Brien paced the attack with 14 points. Levy added 13 and Mostardi 10.
Mary Sereen topped Radnor with 12 points. Kate Gallagher and Ava Gummel contributed nine points each.
