Good thing Academy Park has a good bench and works on its free-throw shooting. Both came in handy against Freire Charter Wednesday.
Subs Nassan Garrison and Deandray Covert combined for 10 key points in the fourth as the Knights rallied for a 77-68 victory in nonleague boys basketball action.
Academy Park (5-0) shot 27-for-37 from the free throw line. Each team was whistled for 24 personal fouls. Freire shot 26-for-32 from the stripe.
While Garrison (seven points) and Covert (six) tallied 10 of their 13 in the final period, it was Jawan Collins who did just about everything for the Knights. He had 25 points, seven rebounds, six steals and five assists. Travis Smith backed Collins with 18 points, while Dayjuan Henson pitched in with 11 points.
