Gloucester County Christian jumped out to a 17-point lead in the second quarter and held on for a 48-40 victory over the visiting Crusaders in the Tri-State Christian Conference semifinals Thursday afternoon.
Gloucester County plays Atlantic Christian Saturday for the title, while TCA (9-9) takes on Pilgrim Academy for third place at 2.
The Crusaders cut a 30-13 second-quarter deficit to 40-39 late in the fourth quarter, but Gloucester shot 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter to hang on for the victory.
Colin Sareyka, the son of Gloucester coach and TCA grad Kyle Sareyka, led the winners with 13 points. Jeremiah Williams and Brit Haseltine topped TCA with 11 points each.
