Terrance Cobb saved 10 of his 13 points for the fourth quarter to help Chester rally for a 50-42 victory over Cumberland Valley Sunday in the Hoops for Harmony Stand Against Racism Showcase at Chambersburg High.
Cobb’s work in the fourth quarter enabled the Clippers to outscore the Eagles, 21-9 and erase a 33-29 deficit.
Kevin Rucker backed Cobb with 11 points. Isaiah Freeman and Lorenzo Jenkins pitched in with 10 each to for the Clippers (6-3).
Cumberland Valley led, 10-9, after the first quarter but Chester rallied to take a 20-18 lead into the locker room at halftime.
PENNWOOD 72, GARNET VALLEY 62 » Anthony Murray shot 9-for-11 from the free throw line and scored 18 points to help the Patriots hold off the Jaguars. Evan Borward scored 16 points.
Jake Sniras of Garnet Valley led all scorers with 20 points. Logan McKee added 14 points and 12 rebounds. GV made a run in the fourth quarter, outscoring Penn Wood, 31-23.
MARPLE NEWTOWN 60, CHURCH FARM 45 » Matt Cantwell posted a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Joey Sanfrancesco added 13 points off the bench.
Girls Basketball:
Bailey Garrison scored nine points, but it wasn’t enough as Penncrest dropped a 42-28 decision to Harriton. Kathryn Harding added six points for the Lions.
