Nick Colucci was Mr. Clutch for Haverford High on Saturday. The senior guard’s buzzer-beating lay up in overtime lifted the Fords to a thrilling 63-62 nonleague victory over Great Valley.
Cameroon Wallace hit two free throws with 6.6 seconds left to give the host Patriots a 62-61 advantage. Colucci then dribbled the length of the floor and scored as time expired. He managed a game-high 27 points and Google Seidman dropped in 14 for Haverford. The Fords drilled nine 3-point baskets including three by Brian Wiener, who finished with 11 points.
In other nonleague action:
Western Reserve 67, Episcopal Academy 31 >> Kevin McCarthy netted 10 points, but the Churchmen fell at the Mercer Tournament at The Hill School.
