Upper Darby wasn’t a very gracious host in the Royal Classic.
Despite playing with five JV players due to an incident in Friday’s opener, the Royals got a whopping 34 points from Torey Green en route to knocking off Simon Gratz, 69-61, to claim the tournament championship.
Upper Darby had five players ejected in Friday’s 59-21 win over Sayre when players from both teams got into a verbal altercation, and while no players threw punches, both teams had a handful of players ejected. Against Gratz, though, the Royals (2-0) regrouped, buoyed by Green’s monster performance in only his second game as a Royal. The senior got support from Meech Timmons and Corey Williams, who had eight points each.
