Anthony Johnson’s bucket with less than a minute remaining gave Glen Mills the lead and the Bulls were able to clear the rebound on a purposely missed free throw by Academy Park with three seconds remaining to preserve a 55-53 road victory in Del Val boys basketball action Monday.
Johnson led the way for Glen Mills with 19 points, 12 rebounds and six blocked shots, as the 6-7 junior controlled the interior. Tyreek Brickus had 13 points and Khyzeem Brown added 10 for the Bulls, who improved to 6-2 in the league, 14-5 overall.
Jawan Collins had a game-high 24 points and 10 rebounds for the Knights (16-5, 5-4), but missed the first of those two free throws with three ticks left, leaving him no choice but to miss the next one and hope for a game-tying follow.
