Schaller carries Garnet Valley to win over Judge

Garnet Valley point guard Carl Schaller scored 15 points and added eight assists Saturday to lead the Jaguars to a 50-47 victory over Father Judge in a Rondae Hollis-Jefferson Classic tournament game.

Schaller also walked away with game MVP honors. Neel Beniwal added 20 points for Garnet Valley (3-0), while Judge was led by Justin Blythe (16 points).

The Clippers’ defense turned it on in the second quarter, limiting the Golden Knights to just five points in that frame as Chester built a 31-18 halftime lead.

Karell Watkins scored 21 points to go with 10 rebounds and two blocked shots. Akeem Taylor added 11 points and two blocks, and Naim Berry added 10 points for the Clippers (3-0). Rustin’s Mikey Miller logged 15 points, with a trio of 3-pointers, while I.V. Pettit led the Knights with 18 points.

PENN WOOD 62, RIDLEY 50 >> Shamir Baynes scored 17 points and Abdullah Dublin added 16 as the Patriots jumped out to a 15-2 lead and then cruised.

Jack Grace led Ridley with 17.

CHICHESTER 54, SLA BEAVER 44 >>Josh Hankins scored 20 points and Ramir McDowell added 11 as the Eagles built a seven-point lead and stayed consistent throughout.

Andrew Monroe had 12 rebounds for Chi (3-2) and Jasir Shaw had eight points and five assists. Brandon Richardson was high for SLA with 19.

MARPLE NEWTOWN 59, INTERBORO 34 >> Ryan Straub clocked 12 points, including three field goals from beyond the arc to lead the Tigers past the Bucs. Mike Tansey and Ben Davis scored 10 points each for Marple. Alec Wood led Interboro with 10 points and added nine rebounds.

Eric McKee had eight assists and six points to chip in for the Tigers (3-1).

LAWRENCEVILLE 58, EPISCOPAL ACADEMY 52 >> Despite some excellent marksmanship from beyond the three-point barrier from the Churchmen’s Colin Chambers, EA went down to defeat in this Peddie School Invitational game.Chambers wound up scoring 26 points with seven 3-pointers, but Malcolm Folk’s eight points was the next best offensive contribution for EA. Nasa Okunito led Lawrenceville School with 17 points.

CARDINAL O’HARA 85, SPRINGSIDE- CHESTNUT HILL 52 >>

Adrian Irving scored 19 points and Anthony Purnell added 18 to lead the Lions to a blowout win over SCHA. Kevin Reeves added 14 points while Delonce Hines led SCHA with 21.

ARCHBISHOP CARROLL 76,WILKES-BARRE 41 >> John Camden rolled up 37 points, including 10 3-point buckets, to lead the Patriots to a rout on the road. It was a career high total for Camden, who sat on the bench the entire fourth quarter.

Caleb Carter’s 10 points led the supporting cast effort for the Patriots (3-0).

RADNOR 46, UPPER MERION 30 >> The Raiders were 10-for-10 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter to put away the Vikings. Jack D’Entremont led Radnor with 18 points.
