O’Hara’s Scott hits 1,000-point mark in win over St. Hubert

Sydni Scott can put her name among the best basketball players in Cardinal O’Hara’s storied history.

The Marshall-bound senior guard eclipsed the 1,000 career points mark in the Lions’ 68-43 Catholic League victory over St. Hubert Tuesday.

Scott, who finished with a game-high 16 points, needed 14 points coming into the game to become the 16th member in the program’s history to accomplish the feat. Eleven O’Hara players got on the scoreboard, including Maggie Doogan with 13, Molly Rullo with 12 points and Annie Welde with seven.

Elsewhere in the Catholic League:

ARCHBISHOP CARROLL 63, WEST CATHOLIC 13 » The Patriots (8-3) raced out to a 16-0 lead after one quarter. Taylor Wilson poured in 24 points and her sister Brooke had seven points, 12 rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Maggie Grant pitched in with 11 points and Grace O’Neill managed 10 points, five assists and five steals.

LANSDALE CATHOLIC 75, BONNERPRENDERGAST 51 » For the second game in a row, Bridie McCann hit the 30-point mark in a Pandas loss. The senior guard scored a career high 32 points, including five 3-point baskets and a perfect 7-for-7 at the free-throw line.

In the Central League:

STRATH HAVEN 40,UPPER DARBY 39 » Trailing by four points at the end of three quarters, the host Panthers stormed back to nip the Royals.

Freshman guard Maryella Gill led Haven with 12 points and senior forward Zoe Trotter chipped in 10. Alliyah Jean-Baptiste collected 14 points and Aubrey Ennis 13 for the Royals.

SPRINGFIELD 32, GARNET VALLEY 27 » The first-place Cougars (7-2, 6-0) remained perfect in the Central League.

Mia Valerio produced 13 points and three steals and Kaitlyn Kearney chipped in with eight points. Taylor Hunyet contributed six points and took two charges. Ava Possenti paced the Jags with 11 points.

MARPLE NEWTOWN 64, LOWER MERION 40 » The Tigers (7-2, 6-1) reeled off their fifth straight win behind Haley Levy’s 12 points. Brooke Impriano added 11 and Mary O’Brien ended with 10.

CONESTOGA 39, RADNOR 36 » Bella Valencia’s 3-pointer as time expired in the fourth quarter gave the Pioneers the victory. Ellie Davis produced a game-high 16

points for the Raptors.

In the Del Val League:

PENN WOOD 45, CHESTER 34 » Joshelyn Carter dropped in 16 points to lead three Patriots in double figures. Laila Johnson and Tiyonna Pratt-Heyward added 12 points apiece.

Shyne Hall netted a team-high 15 points for the Clippers.

CHICHESTER 37, INTERBORO 27 » The Eagles used an 18-8 run in the third quarter to pull away from the host Bucs. Dujwana Jones scored a game-high nine points. Emily Kruzenski and Shakira Orr had eight points each for Interboro.

In the Inter-Ac League:

EPISCOPAL ACADEMY 61, SPRINGSIDE CHESTNUT HILL 27 » Taylor Hammond’s 19-point performance helped the Churchwomen to victory. Riley Cassidy scored 11 of her 13 points in the first quarter and Bella Piselli ended with eight points for EA.
