Wong’s 44 points not enough to save Bonner & Prendergast’s unbeaten record

By Matthew DeGeorge

There’s only one unbeaten boys basketball team left in Delco, despite Isaiah Wong’s best efforts Friday.

Wong scored a career-high 44 points, but Bonner & Prendergast couldn’t overcome an 18-point halftime deficit in falling at Neumann-Goretti, 78-70.

Wong had 36 points in the second half for Bonner (10-1, 5-1 Catholic League). He added eight rebounds. Donovan Rodriguez kept Bonner afloat early with 15 points.

In the Central League:

Garnet Valley 71, Springfield 59 >> Carl Schaller scored 16 points, including six in overtime, as Garnet Valley survived a scare against the winless Cougars by keeping them scoreless in the extra session.
