Archbishop Carroll can’t keep pace with Neumann-Goretti

Before the season, Austin Tilghman made it clear with his words that he transferred into Archbishop Carroll precisely for the challenge of games like Wednesday’s Catholic League tilt against Neumann-Goretti.

By his play Wednesday, in front of Carroll’s raucous capacity crowd, he proved it on the court.

The only thing preventing him from enjoying the thrill of a major Catholic League victory was Ja’Quan Newton.

Tilghman put the host Patriots on his back with 25 points, but they couldn’t stop Newton, with the Miami commit pouring in a game-high 29 to lead the Saints to a 64-58 win.
