Tyrell Sturdivant had a cold and was feeling a little under the weather Friday evening.

On the court, however, the 6-8 senior was just what the doctor ordered.

Sturdivant scored a game-high 23 points as No. 2 Chester defeated seventh-seeded Abington, 63-51, at Chester High in the PIAA District One AAAA quarterfinals. The win sets up a matchup against No. 14 West Chester Rustin Tuesday night at Temple in the semifinals and puts the Clippers just two wins away from their fourth straight district title.

“We knew what was coming,” Abington coach Charles Grasty said about Sturdivant. “We knew he would play hard, he goes after everything but we weren’t able to stop him.”
